Our firm's founder, attorney Smith, is a certified estate tax planning specialist with the California Board of Legal Specialization. To become a certified specialist in tax, an attorney must pass an additional examination and must have more than five years of experience in the field. Attorney Smith has more than 37 years of experience. Only 60 attorneys out of 10,000 in Orange County hold this high honor.
Attorney Smith has an impeccable academic record, graduating from Stanford University and completing his J.D. at the University of California at Hastings College of the Law (the oldest law school west of the Mississippi). Prior to starting our law firm, he practiced as a district attorney and worked for a large law firm in Los Angeles. He now serves clients throughout Southern California in estate planning, trusts and probate.
Attorney Smith is quoted in nationally recognized newspapers and magazines such as the American Bar Association Journal, the Wall Street Journal, the Reader's Digest, and the Orange County Lawyer. He has published a handbook entitled "How to Plan Your Estate Today" and given presentations on estate planning, probate, and wills throughout California. He has previously served as an adjunct law professor at Long Beach State, teaching estate tax planning.
